HD 6950 unlocked vs 6870 ? Worth the extra £40 ?

As you probaly all know the HD6950 can be unlocked which means it almost performs just as good as the 6970.
However there is a lot of people saying that it does not really improve the performence at all. Some say it has been done on purpouse and some say it wasn't. Can anybode tell me how it overclocks. Is the extra £40 worth over the HD6870 (which is meant to be an awsome overclocker)?

If you can pay it then get the 6950, if not, stick with the 6870 and overclock it. The 6950 is a really nice card though, 2GB of memory is nothing to shake your fist at!

Unlocking to the 6970 unlocks some deliberately dormant features but doesn't give the full 6970 experience.
