USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming - Napoleon total war, empire total war, call of duty modern warfare 2 at medium, and starcraft 2

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: ati radeon hd 2600xt 512mb (sapphire)

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: intel quad core Q6700 overclocked to 3.66ghz, dfi lanparty motherboard, 4gb ocz gold, 850 watt bequiet dark power pro psu

Keep saving i'd say, you're going to need triple that to get a decent gaming card for the games you want to play.

You can pick up a 4850 or a 9800 for around £70 over at Aria

right, cheers guys, i would like a 5850 but i couldnt reach the price, would a 5770 be a good choice

If you are on a really tight budget there is always the option of waiting to see what the 455 and 450 cards from Nvidia are like at the end of next month. I usually wouldn't suggest waiting but there is a potential for a really decent card at a really good price. It could also mean the price of the 5770 may come down some in answer.
I know what its like to be on a budget and sometimes a little wait can pay huge dividends. The 460 that Nvidia have out now are around £150 and the reviewers are managing to Overclock them to 5850 levels.
