My recent graphics card broke down the other day. There is no out put of signal from my card at all. I've tried changing the cable and monitor with ones that I know work. I've taken out the card and put it back in and nothing is working so I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to have to replace it with a newer and better card. I was hoping that you guys would be able to give me some hints on which card to buy for pure gaming performance for a card no more than £130.
I'm currently looking at http://www.ebuyer.com/product/188602 (I've got a £5 off voucher from ebuyer, yay!). I've got 2gig 900 memory. I will be upgrading the memory to 4 gig next month I hope. Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E6600 Dual Core and ASUS P5N-E SLI nForce 650i SLI(C55) Mainboard. I did have a 8800 GTX 768MB but that is now broken sadly also power supply of 550w. I might need to upgrade that as well but I'm sure you will tell me if I need to.
I'm not big on overclocking or anything like that so I would like a card that I can put in and leave alone. If you do recommend a card that I should get and then overclock, as long as there is some simple software that I can install and just press the overclock button I would be happy to do so.
The vapor-x has a slightly better fan. The fan isn't a big deal on these cards as they are very power efficient and run cool. I would get this; http://www.ebuyer.com/product/191864
or this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX...
They are both cheaper than the card you are looking at and are better brands.
You should OC as there is no reason not to and it is quite easy to do. You don't even need software as you can OC ATI cards through the catalyst control center.
