what should i get for £250 it can be SLI or Crossfire or a single card i have E8400 set up with it and will be overclocking it. 4 GB of RAM. 64bit OS and 1920 x1200 screen it will be primarily used for gaming. i also want DX10 doesn't have to be max setting on the likes of Crysis because my machine I'm using at the moment is VERY crap and want to plat Empire TW and likes of fallout 3 and Starcraft 2 when they come out (i know fallout's out)

PS whats the DEAl with the GTX2** are they bringing out more of them like 279 or summet or is it just like GTX280X2 like 4870X2

Either the Nvidia GTX260 (216 core) or ATI HD4870 1Gb. Both are superb cards and you`ll need a sharp knife to seperate them with reguards to performance, although I`d lean very slightly in favour of the GTX260.
Between those two your choice really will boil down to best price/bundle and warranty.
How I wish I had your problem:)

Oh case closed i'm getting The DDR 2 Route because the MB i was getting DDR 3 on 790i is meant to have issues whilst the more reliable Rampage is all good lol but anything is good compared to mine because ive got P4 2.66GHz, 1Gb of DDR RAM not DDR2 and HD 2400 pro cannot wait to destroy the thing its probably only worth a worthers original

go for 4870 512mb or 1gb, i know you can get the 4870 512mb for 190us at some place. This card beat the gtx280 in some games, when it doesnt beat it , its just by few dps. For the price range between 4870 and gtx280 4870 win for performance for the money.

It's 250 British pounds, not euros.

If he gives us a budget in pounds, he cannot buy from a US retailer like ncixus.

250 pounds is normal for a card like that in the UK. Prices there are ginormous compared to the US. They include 15% VAT for example.

There's a $220 HD 4870 1GB at newegg which is in fact a better deal than yours :) Unfortunately, newegg USA won't ship to the UK.
