What can be the problem. I get green desktop in my win98 SE and all colors messed up. 3D applications really don´t work.
I have all latest drivers...Hercules 7.103, DirectX8.0a, Via 4in1 4.31, and so on. Without drivers installed colours are normal. I don´t know anymore what is wrong. I fight with these kind of problems almost everyday for job, but this goes over my head...
I Have tried same card in different computer and it worked fine. That was old 300MHz Celeron.

My hardware is:

ASUS A7V
AMD Thunderbird 1100MHz
Hercules Prophet 4500 (KYROII) 64MB
Maxtor 30GB 7200rpm ATA-100
512MB memory
Plextor cd-writer
and so on...

Well, I don't know if this will help, but try going back a knotch on the via drivers. Try 4.28v. I believe they are the most stable so far. Hope that helps. I'd really like to know how that (kyro2) sucker scores in games and stuff.

 Since we cannot get what we like, let us like what we can get

There are rumors floating about that DX 8.0a doesn't work well with it. Try changing the DX. Of course if the other systems have DX 8.0a and the card works then that's not likely it. Of cours at the same time your card DOES work fine. It's the system itself that is giving troubles with it.

Trying compairing configurations across the systems. That may not help much, but it's a start.

"This is my Kyro 2, with which I am well pleased."

Make sure in your bios that the AGP 4x Mode is set to disable. A clean install could do wonders and sticking with DX7 would help performance significantly until DX8.1 comes out with the fix for the Kyro2. Old drivers especially video card drivers play havoc with new cards. Happens over and over again. Sometimes a clean install is your best solution. Sometimes not.
