Hi Guys,

Budget £300

Im after a budget laptop or preferably a netbook that will do the following tasks im not after any blistering performance but something that will be able to do the below tasks

Downlaod Movies
Stream to TV Via HDMI Connection
Download Music
Social Networking
Web Browsing
Light use of microsoft office & Emails

Ive been looking at these:

Toshiba NB550D – 109
Acer Aspire One 722
Lenovo Idea Pad S205
Toshiba Satelite C6600 – 181

Could anyone give me any other recommendations please? I would prefer a netbook but as long as it can cope with the above tasks it doesn’t matter

Thank You

I have this and love it -

You can up it to 4gb of RAM and it does pretty well with everything you list (as long as you don't expect blazing speed). I got mine off Ebay for ~$250 USD and the memory upgrade was only another $30 USD. So far less than 300 pounds.

If you want a bit more speed theres this: (couldn't find a UK link).

Basically, the E-350 is a step up from the the C-60/50 and would be faster in all respects. That said, I wanted the additional battery life so went with the C-50 (I only use the netbook when travelling anyhow, so flat out performance wasn't much of an issue - I have another laptop and a gaming desktop for that).

Yep, then hunt around for an AO722-BZ454 - has HDMI out and all the features you wanted!

The 722 is made by Acer.

Those specs sound about right...except for the dvd writer (no netbook has an internal dvd drive) and i seem to recall mine has 64-bit windows 7 home premium. Trust me, home premium is way better than starter.

Better cpu, more ram, and bluetooth - battery life might be a bit shorter, but id go for it.
