Windows 7 PC keeps shutting down randomly
My PC keeps shutting down randomly
When it shuts down it doesn't just shut down like the power has been unplugged, it turns off as though i have pressed shut down
Specs:
AMD Athlon II 640
4gb RAM (2x2gb)
ATI Radeon HD 4830 512mb
powered by
Corsair CX430 (modular)

It has worked fine for 5 months. I haven't done any overclocking.
Thanks in advance

well i have a windows 7 and got it this christmas ,and it started shutting off Can someone explain how i can fix this ? i know its not overheating tho its not hot & the fan is actually cold

Do you by any chance have a PS/2 mouse (Non-USB)? Well, if you do try replace it with a USB one to see if stat works.
Check that first, then check for other problems like RAM problems, viruses.
To check for RAM, use MemTest, and obviously run a virus scan for viruses.

Give that a go :D

Hi I am having this problem, I have just installed win 7 and it keeps powering off without warning. Temps are fine, have tried different memory. I have a ps/2 keyboard, can you explain why this shuts down the computer? I can't seem to find much information about this issue elsewhere. I just want to know before I buy a new keyboard. thanks

I really don't know or understand why it does this. Buy a cheap USB one or borrow one for a whilst. There is a chance it will stop shutting down.

Hey! It's been so long since I started this thread. Anyway it turned out it was my keyboard too. It was an old PS/2 one, and when I found out I replaced. :D

With no errors, or other symptoms/issues, shuts off. Replacement time, or if you have or can borrow one for testing, there is nothing left. They do wear out.

I will just return it to Amazon, It came with a 3 year warranty I think.
Thanks :D
