GTX Titan or 2 GTX 770 4gb on SLI?
Should I invest in a GTX Titan, 2 GTX 770s (4gb) or should I just get one GTX 770 (4gb)

I currently have an AMD HD6670 and am aware that I need a new PSU
Thanks,

Well, as other said, it depends on your monitor, but also know that 2x 770s is a great choice for 1080p.... if it's a 120hz monitor.

There are some games out there right now that won't even hit 120fps with 2x 770s (BF4, metro last light, etc). So if you got a great gaming 120hz 1080p monitor, 2x 770s is a good choice.

That, or 1440p monitors.

What about 2 GTX 690 for 1440p:D ?

I was in the same situation last month as wanted something to run new games smoothly at 1440p for the next few years and ended up going for 2x770's.

To me it's a no brainer as you get a lot more performance than a Titan at about 80% of the cost!

I was a bit unsure about the SLI route having never done it before & because I'd read stories of driver issues, heat problems etc, but I've not had any driver issues as yet playing games like Battlefield 3, Tombraider & even 6 year old Crysis 1!

The top card gets a bit warm, but I've changed to a more aggressive fan profile & both cards hover around the 60C mark whilst gaming... although the fans are a little noisy, but nothing unbearable especially since the noise of the game drowns the fan noise out anyway.

Performance is good and I did a test with the cards on Crysis fully maxed settings, modded at 1440p, with 8xAA and with a single 770 it was averaging around 36 FPS.... when I added the 2nd 770 it went up to around the 60 FPS mark - that's pretty good scaling.

At 1080p you'd be running well over 100 FPS in that game on the same settings!

However like others have said, if you're running at 1080p or less it might not be worth the extra heat & noise, but if you can put up with this (& believe me it's not that bad anyway!) then you'll get probably the best bang for your buck with 2 x GTX 770.

If you are gaming on a single 1080p monitor get a GTX 770. Anything else would be a waist of money period. As for a Titan it is a complete and total waist of money with out a doubt not worth it. If at a later date you need more graphics power drop in another GTX 770. But you would only need that if you go for say a triple monitor setup.

On top of that a SLI GTX 770 would kill even a single Titan.

go for a gtx 780 instead

Could also consider a GTX780 since when overclocked it reaches or passes GTX Titan performance. While saving about $300-350.

what resolution, anything less than 1440p and you are wasting your money

I would prefer a GTX Titan because a single GPU would be more reliable. However, two GTX 770's would be a beast. A GTX Titan is more than enough for multi monitor anyway. If you're playing with one, you'll be more than fine.
