Looking to Add a Graphics Card for my Desktop: AMD Dual-Core A6-Series APU A6-5400K with Radeon HD 7540D
My setup is as follows:

Processor: AMD Dual-Core A6-Series APU A6-5400K with Radeon HD 7540D

GPU: Integrated and listed above

3 x PCI Express (x1) slots, 1 x PCI Express (x16) slot, 2 x external 5.25" bays, 3 x internal 3.5" bays

RAM: 14 GB (I added quite a bit about half year ago. Went from 6 to 14 because why not)

PSU: 300 W total

Motherboard: Gateway DX 4380G (I'm not sure this part is correct but that is what I got from CPU-Z)

Chipset: A55/A60M FCH

I am wondering what would be the best graphics card I could get regarding this setup. ANy help would be appreciated as I am not that knowledgeable about this kind of thing. Thanks in advance!

Well, bottleneck will definitely be a problem. I'd go for a 260x or possibly a 7850.

Bottleneck? Should I also buy a newer PSU?

The APU you have would become the bottleneck, as it's processing power goes to both it's GPU and CPU. However, I second the idea of a 260x. You wont be able to do the whole 'XFire with your APU' thing, as the latest A10-+7850K can only XFire with a R7250, at best. But you will notice improvements by switching to a dedicated GPU, especially a 260x.
The other alternative would be to replace your mobo & APU with a different CPU (Fx chip, or go Intel..) or upgrade to one of the newer and more powerful FM2+ APU's.. However that WILL be expensive!

For that machine and that PSU i would recommend a 7750. If PSU has a 6 pin PCIe connector, you 'might' be able to run a 7770 or R9 260X. Both which are considerably faster than the 7750, but the 7750 will not need the connector and is plenty powerful.

I'll have to open it up and take a look thanks!
