But you can't fit sli in a mitx caseYes you can. Most matx boards have 4 pci-e slots which is plenty of room for SLI or Crossfire even with dual slot cards. I think you may have Matx and Mini ITX mixed up. Becasue with mini ITX board there will only be room for 1 pci-e port.
Here's a Z87 Matx board that supports SLI

ill explain better have you seen those boards with the x1 baks cut off so you can put full sized cards in them but it would run at x1 but you would have a little thing that are the x16 pins and you put in the full sized slot not the x4 and 2 ribbon connectors come out and there are 2 x16 slots running at x8
Yes, pics please. I think I know what you are describing, but if the 2nd card is not in the #2 PCIe X16 slot, SLI/CF won't work.

Can you fit an ATX motherboard in your case? What make and model case have you got?If you really want to run 660 sli you need to get an ATX size Z87 mobo.
But if you need to get another case too, then its not worth it from a costing point of view. So then I'd recommend just getting one better graphics card. Buit you'll need a power supply that'll run either choice. So what PSU have you got - make and model?
Actually there are several matx z87 boards that support SLI.
