What USB Wireless Adapter for 60MB internet connection
Hi.

I am using this wireless usb adapter:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Edimax-EW-7811UN-150Mbps-Wirele...

I am getting max 2MB/s effective download out of 7,3MB/s. When I am wired I get maximum of course, I was just thinking if some of you could help me with getting the proper Wifi USB Adapter from amazon.co.uk.

Does it have to be 801.11N or what should I look to get maximum speed?

Thanks

I really don't understand why so many people buy that edimax device. Sure it is nice and small but that tends to be a bad thing when it comes to wireless. You have tiny antenna and then you stuff the device almost inside the metal box of a computer blocking even more signal.

If you have a USB extension cable try that first to see if getting it away from the computer case help at all.

I'd get one of these and make sure it's connected to the 5GHz SSID, but you tend to get far better antennas with PCIe cards.

Router is VirginMedia SuperHub 2 (new one). I would like to have USB rather than PCIe.

What's the router? Can you use a PCIe card?
