Bought a GTX 760 what power supply has 2 x 6-pin connectors?
Hi
I recently bought my new asus geforce gtx 760 but i realised my psu only had one pin connector and the gtx 760 is an 8 pin into 2 x 6-pins so i can only connect one of the 6-pins

I was wondering which psu has 2 ican use.

I have, a i5 3550k, 1tb 7200rpm hdd, gtx 760, 8gb ram

Please ask if there is any more information you need

I was thinking maybe thus but i wasnt sure: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00GN8VZ7U/ref=mp_s_a_1...

Well thank you for putting up with my useless information for that long and offering as much help you could on what you had to work with!

I will order that PSU, my poor GTX 760 is still sitting in its packet just waiting to show me what it can do haha :(

yes that would work fine that psu has 2x8pin pcie cables with a breakaway two pins on each so you can have your 8pin and 6pin ,
a good brand power supply and enough wattage , that will do you nicely :)

I Think you will be fine with the cable you ordered , is hard to say for sure with the adaptor i showed you without knowing the PSU specs ,if it had a high amp single 12v rail i would say definately yes , let me know how you get on , hope it all goes well for you

Ok i was just a little worried because the PSU is quite old now so its probably lacking a few features that PSU's these days have, but i will take a look and see if that cable you suggested would fit, i wish i could be more useful information wise.

Im not sure if you seen but i updated one of my post's with this link, http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-Builder-Series-Modular-...

Would this provide the cables, or even with this would i need to buy an adaptor?

no you would not lose power , to be sure can you tell me what brand your PSU is , and wattage

It is 500w, i cant find a brand, i got it when i chose parts on cyber power systems a few years ago and they built it. Sorry.

Also i see you mention "you can use one of your 6pin pcie power leads for your card and get a molex to 8pin PCIE to power the eight pin power on your card aswell" the card only has one 8-pin on it, im not sure if you were thinking it had a 6-pin on the crd aswell but it only has an 8-pin

If i did want to buy a new power supply would this do the job and still allow for a future upgrade of RAM?

Hi Lucasl-l
what is your current psu ?
If your current PSU has a single 12v rail and has enough wattage to power your card , you can use one of your 6pin pcie power leads for your card and get a molex to 8pin PCIE to power the eight pin power on your card aswell without upgrading your old PSU , such as one like this,

This does seem like a good suggestion, would i loose much power using this instead of the provided one with the gfx card?

Thanks for the answers guys im not sure 550w would be enough for those components but, if you rekon they are then i will take your word for it! i believe mine at the moment is an old 500w power supply!

I don't really want to have to use adapters, im quite happy to spend up to around £60 on a new PSU.

Edit. Would this be ok or too much? it has very good reviews and i believe it has 2x6-pin pci-e cable from the PSU
