Solved Forum question

my hdd is not recognised after installing new cpu and moboard
i have recently installed new stuff as in the title but when i go to install win7 it wont recognise my hdd i have had to buy an ide to sata converter as my crappy old drive is ide so i thought the problem could be that but then i tried mt brothers sata hdd and that had the same problem if any one could help me would be much appreciated thanks

Windows7 might need the chipset/SATA driver loaded to be able to see the drive if the BIOS is configured to AHCI.
