one hdmi port . I purchased a vga to hdmi cable . when i connect the cpu to the tv the tv detects the hdmi cable i connected b

one hdmi port . I purchased a vga to hdmi cable . when i connect the cpu to the tv the tv detects the hdmi cable i connected but i do not see my computer desktop or anything it shows no signal.......... what do i do now? please help????

Vga is analog, hdmi is digital. You'd need an active converter to go from vga to hdmi. A passive vga to hdmi cable will not work.
