Monitor and USB slot no longer work
So I recently built a computer with the help of the friend and the computer was all fine. But the stock cpu cooler sucked so i installed a new one yesterday. I turned the computer on and everything in the case lit up and was running well put my mouse and keyboard didnt work and didn't light up. The monitor which I connect through a hdmi turned on but it had no signal. The strange thing was my headset worked so im really confused. The only thing I can think of is I must have damaged the motherboard while installing the cpu cooler or something. Any help is really appreciated thank you in advance.

Gee you were lucky. How in hell did they get bent? Did you remove the cpu to clean it to apply new paste?

I found the problem. I some how bent two pins on the cpu so I straightened them up and it works fine now.

I'm staring to think yeah you might have damaged the motherboard.

Have you checked the cable to the monitor yet?

Its starting to look like a faulty mobo. Or a case.

Can you post your build?

OK I've seen it where both socket and plug are worn and the connection doesn't work. Try the mouse while putting finger pressure on the usb connector in different directions.

What of the monitor?

That didn't work. I forgot to mention that pressing the power or restart button doesn't turn off the computer the only way to turn it off now is to hold in the power button not sure if this helps.
Also I don't get what you mean by 'what of the monitor?

Did you remove the monitor cable when you put in the cpu cable? Did you put it back in the right graphics card connector?

Did you bump the usb3.0 case connector on its header on the mobo? Check it. Do the rear usb3.0 and 2.0 sockets work?

My mobo doesn't have 3.0 slot so I can only use the 2.0 USB slots. My headset works on all the USB slots and the mouse and keyboard dont work on any of them. I have connected the mouse and keyboard to another computer and they worked on that one.

Becuase its an amd cpu i didnt have to remove the motherboard to install the cpu cooler so the only wire i touched was the cpu cooler wire.
