I've just built my PC and realised that there are these metal things sticking out which would make it impossible to use one usb 3 port and the ethernet port. It took me about 10 hours to build this PC and I really don't want to take it all apart just to bend them into the correct place. People say that they ground the ports but isn't the PSU enough? What should I do? Take it all apart? Try to bend them inward? cut them off?

The typical approach is to insert the metal IO shield first (make sure that it's fully inserted and snapped into place all around), followed by inserting the motherboard on an angle beneath the IO shield and carefully manoeuvring it into position such that the metal flaps press down on the tops of the connectors.

If it were mine, the only solution that I could accept would be to disassemble it and put the tabs where they belong.YMMV.

Why?
Because I have always had the impression (rightly or wrongly) that the purpose of the tabs is to properly ground the sockets and the MB connectors to the case ground.
