Hi,
Sorry if this is the wrong format. I remember there being a sticky with a format on how to request builds, but I am unable to find it.
I am interested in building a gaming computer and would like some advice on what parts I should buy.
Thank you for helping!
Approximate Purchase Date: This week
Budget Range: $1000 to $1200 before rebate
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming
Are you buying a monitor: Yes
Parts to Upgrade: N/A
Do you need to buy OS: Yes
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg or amazon
Location: City, State/Region, Country - Honolulu, Hawaii
Parts Preferences: Nvidia for Physx unless there is a better alternative
Overclocking: No
SLI or Crossfire: No...?
Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080
Additional Comments: This is my first time, so I am really unsure of what I need. I have about $1000 to spend, but I can go a little over if necessary, I don't have an OS, keyboard, mouse, and monitor, so including those within a budget would be fine. I may also need to somehow make the desktop wireless to the internet.

Well for your build it will more than likely be an FX-8350 or i5-4670K for the CPU, 16gb of ram, a gpu around the 7950 or higher (A list here ), a good 550-600w PSU by Antec, XFX, Seasonic and the mobo just needs to be able to have the right sockets to have everything in it.
I remember my first build to, so I understand all this info/learning is overwhelming.

The community here can probably think up a better build than that site. Adding wifi is as easy as plugging a card/usb device into your computer
http://pcpartpicker.com/builds/
Here you can view an endless amount of completed builds. There is the price button on the right where you can adjust it and put a range on. You can also search by CPU or GPU if you find one you really like.

Currently, Vindictus (cause I can't find any game with similar forms of action and somehow runs decent on my laptop). Because of my desktop slowing down, I haven't been able to play the games I currently own, such as Skyrim, Dark Souls, etc. I would really like to play graphics intense games and other newly releases, such as Far Cry 3 (4 is coming out), Saints Row IV (even playing Saints Row 2 is difficult because of FPS issues), Crysis 3, etc.
Thanks for the info on SLI/Crossfire. I did a little research, but wasn't so sure about what it was.
All the other stuffs (other than case) I plan on doing a little research later.
Looking at the page, should I follow the mid-range build? Or do you have a better suggestion? I am interested in something that would allow the desktop to use wi-fi

No problem! What kind of games do you play btw?
Just so you know, SLI/Crossfire is adding a 2nd GPU in, usually as an upgrade path later. (seemed like you didn't know)
The Case, Monitor, Mouse, Keyboard and OS are really up to your preference and those are usually things you need to research yourself.
-For a case, more than likely an ATM mid tower
-Keyboard, Mechanical or not, Macro keys, customizable lights etc
-Gaming Mouse, Depends on what games you play
-Monitor, Size and features

hehe, before we go crazy upping the budget
, you should give some of the info listed here. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/353572-31-build-upgra...
This way we can prioritize your build better for your needs.
With a total $1300 ($1000 for the comp) budget for example, you can get a much better CPU/GPU and then minor upgrades to the rest of the hardware. Or just have better peripherals like a mechanical keyboard/ advanced gaming mouse/larger monitor etc
