If i installed WIN 8 on my mass storage HDD, can i install the same copy of WIN 8 on a ssd and boot from the ssd?
Hello, I am doing a pc build and i want to boot the os(win 8) on a ssd but dont have enough money at the moment. For now i will have to boot the os from my mass storage hdd, but down the line can i install the same copy of win 8 on a ssd if i set it to the boot drive and still use the hdd as my storage drive?

Of course

Once you have all of your files and settings off the old drive I would format it so you dont have any issues with your pc trying to boot from the other drive or any issues of that nature.

Yes it is completely legit to reinstall the same os onto a different drive for the same computer, key thing is installing it to be used on the same computer.

Yes.
When you get your new ssd, you can clone the hard drive to the ssd.
That assumes that the new ssd can hold what is on the hard drive.
Samsung and Intel offer free clone utilities to do the job.

Yes. You would basically be just replacing the HDD.
