I have a Hyper 212 EVO so heat isn't a problem. But would I be able to over clock it to 4ghz? So I can get 8350 performance

I know its an old thread but... for those looking for info...
The 970 extreme 3 R2 not suited for overclocking? = Bullshit.
Mboard: ASrock 970 Extreme3 R2.0
Ram: DDR3 1333Mhz CL9
Vid: Radeon HD7870 GB edition.
Have ran this board with an AMD Phenom X2 unlocked to quadcore and overclocked to 3.8Ghz. So that was an excellent overclock, no complaints there, great performance.
Now I am testing the FX 8320, I wait buying such a product about a year or so because they get better in the production of these chips after a while. I have started tuning it a few days ago and I am finding its sweetspot and the right settings.
For cooling I use the Cooler Master TX3 EVO wich is very cheap as wel. The stock cooler definitely does not do the job, even on stock speed.
Temps stay below 59 degrees with prime 95 with the TX3 EVO. But warning first I had a crash becausethe auto fan speed was adjusted to slow and it ran to hot so I put the fan speed on full first to run the test.
Have mine running at 4,4Ghz, stock voltage. NB is running at 2200 and HT is at 2400MHz.
Now probably the hardcore overclockers think this is shit.. but for a small budget this is an excellent gamer board. I am lucky with my CPU because 4.4GHz at stock voltage is very nice, 900Mhz overclock no less and I am not done tuning yet. My bro has the ASUS sabertooth 990FX R2, but does not get better overclocks dispite the huge V8 cooler. But his chip is one year older then mine.
This is certainly no big overclock but looking at value for money: excellent!
important settings:
Spread spectrum: OFF
APM: OFF
Turbo mode: OFF
CPU Voltage: Stock 1.35V
NB speed: 2200Mhz
NB voltage: 1.2
HT speed: 2400Mhz
LLC
FF
Cool and Quiet: ON
C1E: ON
CPU C6: OFF
Have been running prime for 1 hour and everything OK.

This is the build. I just added the motherboard. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3QDuY

Good board would be the Asrock Extreme 4.It would be a good one, but it too has only a 4+1 VRM design. The Gigabyte I linked has a 8+2 design, making it the best 970 board for OCing of any kind.

This is my first PC build. I don't have any parts yet. I just want a good PC to play some PC games...Since you don't have the part yet, I recommend going with the Gigabyte I linked: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-ga970...
You won't have any problems getting to 4GHz with it.
