Do cpu power supplies go bad if never used
Do cpu power supplies go bad if never used. I bought a few components for a build a couple years ago. Never had the money to finish the build. The new power supply has been sitting in the box for two years. Will it still work like a new one or does it degrade over time

There is a very slim chance that something could degrade just sitting, corrosion etc. But as Android said if it is a good quality unit there should be no problem.

Sorry, I meant psu. I obviously don't know much about the technical details of computers. That's why i am asking questions. It is a seasonic X750 gold. Thanks for the feedback. You answered my question.

Yah it will still be a brand new PSU if you never used it the parts in wont degrade on there own without use for a long long time.

It's probably fine, provided it was a decent power supply to begin with. Most good power supplies have a warranty of 5 years or so to start with, and decent capacitors won't degrade until you put 50,000 hours or so of use on them. The best are rated to 100,000 or more hours (over 11 years) of continuous use. That doesn't mean you should use a power supply for 11 years, but it does mean it should be ok after sitting in the box for a couple.

I put 5-6 years on a PSU before I want to replace, but I buy high quality (seasonic or XFX)
