do i need a 120hz monitor?
i have a gtx 770 and a 60hz monitor. well, two of them.. and i cant stand the soap opera effect on 120hz tvs when watching movies.. but it didnt look "smoother" to me, just like a low budget film. so am i retarded bc i cant really tell smoothness? am i really missing out that much?

Also, movies are only recorded at either 30fps or 24fps, a 120Hz monitor/TV won't change that.

Over 30Hz I can' hardly tell. Some say they can see the different between 80fps and 90fps. Not me.

I'm happy with 60Hz. I have a feeling you will be too.

No, the 120Hz monitors are far better than those gimmicky tv's. However, you need twice the graphics power to drive a monitor to 120Hz as you do to 60Hz.
