Currently I run a SLI setup with GTX 760s, the 2GB model. Certain... games... have come out recently that seem VRAM hungry (perhaps some involving watching dogs), and I am considering a slight future-proofing for the next year or so. At present, I can get a pair of GTX 760s (the 4GB model) for just under $500, whereas a single 780ti will set me back well over $600 and have potentially less in the way of general performance than my SLI'd 760s.
I know on a single 760 4GB model the memory bus is too narrow to take advantage of the extra VRAM... but what about in a SLI situation, where the VRAM pool stays at 4GB but all of a sudden I have more horsepower to take advantage of that?
Or should I save my money now and wait until Maxwell cards come out?
The rest of my relevant specs:
i5-3570K
8 GB DDR3-1600 RAM
Corsair Air 540 case

SLI 760s would beat any single graphics card out right now, and side-grading to 4gb models of the same card is throwing money away. Watch_Dogs does happen to be vram heavy, but I promise you, no card out right now can run Watch_Dogs on max settings. I have sli 780ti's and it is still not optimized at 1440p. I get 60 fps only if I cut off anti-aliasing. Save your money for Maxwell.

You're better off just going with a single ASUS GTX 780 DCUII http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DWV3NM6 and go SLI with it later if you feel like you need more horsepower.
Going with an SLI setup right away is rarely advisable over the best single card you can afford. The bandwidth on a 760 can't even utilize 4GB VRAM so it's really pointless to get one anyway.
