Intel Stock Cooler Nightmare!
Hey everyone. Just upgraded from the intel stock cooler to the corsair h50 liquid cooler for my i7 3770k. Have it ocd to 3.9. I know I could have went for a better air cooler but I just love the way it looks perched on my motherboard, and matches the black theme of my build really well (rosewill thor v2). Anyways, has anyone ever had a horribly hard time removing the stock cooler? I know you just twist the pins and pop them up, but it took me thirty minutes to get this thing off. After I put it in the "unlocked" position it just WOULDNT come off. I was pulling so hard it hurt my thumb and was leaving indentations in my skin. I was afraid to twist and pull too hard obviously for fear of braking my motherboard (asrock z77m). I ended up having to cut the push pins off on the underside of my motherboard to get it to come off. Has anyone else experienced this or did I just receive a faulty HSF? For anyone wonderjng, my temps at load dropped 30c too :)

That's rare and is because of the size of the motherboard mounting holes, at least you didn't have to worry about the stock cooler falling off, that's for sure! :)

I'd once such an experience with stock cooler. It gave me tough time as even after rotating the pins it just did not let go off and rather stuck on the mobo. But, your case seems to be extreme as it left indentations on your skin.
