First time $1000 Gaming Computer Build... Any mods?
I am building a new gaming computer for ~$1000, having no previous experience. Before I started, I barely knew the difference between a GPU and a CPU, but since I had friends who knew lots about computers and their parts, I asked them, and gradually I learned more and more, but keep in mind when answering I am nowhere near being an expert. I am looking for the best 'bang for the buck', although that's a given, and would probably buy the build by beginning of July. I just got a job though, so the longer I wait, the more I can pay for specific parts.
I will mostly use this computer for RTS games and some games like Battlefield 4, Payday 2, and anything else that catches my fancy, so I would like something that's good in all areas.

Here is the link to the build I have so far, but what would you change?

I also already have another, decent monitor, but would like to be going on two.

Thank you!

PS. Sorry if this is in the wrong thread or something like that, first time on this site.

Well I'm not sure about better, but Asus cards are great they're probably extremely similar in performance and $300 is a good price. You couldn't go wrong with either in my opinion.

That looks a little pricey right now, and I've heard a lot of good things about the Asus Radeon R9 280X 3GB DirectCU Video Card, so I think I'm going to go with that one. Is that one better in your opinion for it's price ($300)?

What is the link to your graphics card? I'll take it if it's better, I haven't ordered it yet.

I just ordered a real similar build, except with an asus MOBO, corsair 300r, and evga 750W. I also went with the XFX 280x Black edition oc'd, mainly because xfx offers a lifetime warranty on their cards. Your build looks pretty good though!

I was thinking of purchasing the MSI 280x, but upon looking up reviews it seems at least half of them have pretty big fan problems. You may want to look into it, maybe MSI has recently fixed the problem?

I saw that, but I thought that although half of the reviews say it doesn't work, doesn't mean half of the cards don't work, because people tend to comment more when things don't work than when they do. I have also started buying my pc, here is the new part list. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/z6bMTW

I would say the Corsair 300D because it's quite big, could accommodate a GTX 780 Ti (at least) and cheap and simple.

Ok thanks. Also, I was looking at some Phantom reviews, and apparently the Phantom 2 is pretty cramped (and overpriced), should I switch it out for the Corsair 300R? Or my friend has the H440. Which should I get?
