Here is my dilemma. I currently have CF 6850 in my system and i am realizing that they are showing their age. I cant play at my native 5760x1080 in really any games so i end up turning it down to 4800x900 and it works out fine. I cant enable any AA or settings of the like because of the 1gb of vram.
I have the opportunity to get an Asus r9 280x for USD 160. I am planning by this time next year to replace my whole system with a new CF setup and an FX-8350. I was just wondering if this was a good idea. Would the 280x game better that the CF 6850 in eyefinity or should i just wait until i can buy it all at once.
As response to your question whether you should buy that card or not, don't buy your current cards are better than the r9 280x or will perform same or slightly less but you will not notice major difference not the difference worth 160$.
What game are you trying to play? I think that the game is not optimized to Crossfire. Also see the Catalyst Control Center to see if you have turned down the settings.
