TV as my new PC screen
Hello everyone,

So I am building a custom pc containing what I hope will be an r9 280x and an Asus M5A97 R2.0 motherboard.

I have seen a video unboxing the motherboard and it seems like it does not have an HDMI port.

I was hoping to use my Toshiba HDTV as my screen in the future. It has two HDMI ports, the classic yellow-white-red inputs, and an input for the blue wire which has two grip screws on each side.

So in this situation, do I need some extra component to use my TV in HD? Does the motherboard contain an HDMI input that I have not seen? Or is there more to it that I can really see? Please leave your answers in thorough detail so I can understand.

Thank you

You'll be using the ports off the 280X video card, not the mobo, and the 280X does have HDMI ;)

Thanks! As you can probably tell I'm a noob with computers :) .

Like Tradesman said, the motherboard not having HDMI doesn't matter at all. You're supposed to connect the video card to the screen, not the motherboard to the screen.
