Computer goes into sleep mode when plugged into graphics card
My fiancé's computer when plugged up to his Radeon 9600 card will start to boot up but a few seconds later it goes into sleep mode. But when we plug the cable into the onboard graphics the computer started up, did a system restore and it's all good to go. But then we tried the Radeon card again and even after the system restore it does the same thing.

Besides that we did have a power outage today and this was the first time we tried to turn it on afterwards. Plus it needed to be sprayed out but he didn't unplug anything just snapped off the fan over the cpu and gave that a good cleaning.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Did he/she clean off the old thermal paste and put new thermal paste before putting the heat slink back on?

As far as the video goes, the setting in the bios may have changed in the bios where it defaulted back to factory settings. You might go back into the bios (Del; F2, F10, or Esc depending on your computer) and ensure that the computer is looking at the PCI slot for video and not the onboard video.

Sounds like the card could have gotten fried.
