SSD + 2TB Storage + RAID5 on 4x 1TB
Building a system with a Plextor SSD 256GB M.2 on an Asus Z97-Deluxe (NFC/WLC). Can I configure the SSD with the OS, have a 2TB internal for primary storage AND then set up a RAID5 on four additional internal 1TB drives? Premise is that some applications will be on the SSD and others residing on the 2TB.

The manual is clear as with other posts INSOFAR as when having the configuration of an SSD and RAID. What I am seeking to do is to have 1 SSD, 1 primary storage HHD (the 2TB) and then an additional 4 HHDs (the 1TBs) which would be set as the RAID5. I would run the application on the SSD, store data on the 2TB and then use the RAID5 set as by storage. Some apps might be on the 2TB . . . I don't think installing an application on a RAID array make sense. In a flow, it might look like this [APPLICATION INSTALL/RUN ON SSD] > [SOME APPLICATIONS AND PRIMARY STORAGE ON 2TB HHD] > [BACKUP ON RAID5's 4x1TBs]. If it is inpractical to have these three separate items, the alternative would be to NOT have the RAID array, but have the SSD and a primary backup 2TB HHD (#1) and then just have a second 2TB or 3TB drive (#2) to which I would back up the #1 HHD's contents. I hope I am being clear, but may be having a problem positing the question. Thoughts?
