Low GPU Usage in Crysis 2
I seem to experience low GPU Usage in Crysis 2 only. I run it on Ultra settings 1080p, directx 11 and high res textures pack.

PC Specs:
Asrock FM2A55-VG3+
AMD A10 7700K 4.1 GHZ
PNY 8GB RAM 1333 MHZ
EVGA GTX 760 SC/ACX
Seagate 500 GB Hard Drive

It seems that Crysis 2 isn't fully using my GPU and CPU. What is causing it to have low gpu usage? .

Why does this website say that Crysis 2 fully utilizes all 4 CPU Cores?

Now I am very confused

Were you able to find out what was causing low GPU usage in Crysis 2?
I to am having the same issue. My frame-rate seems to cap out at 100 in game but much higher in menu. If I lower the speed of my GPU then usage goes up proportionally. Likewise if I increase the speed of my GPU load usage goes down and max FPS is still 100!

Unfortunately disabling Directx 11 and high res textures does not do anything. I also calculated the CPU Usage and it was at 51.5% usage for Crysis 2 and 77.5% CPU usage for Far Cry 3. So Crysis 2 only uses 2 - 3 CPU cores and Far Cry 3 can use four to six cores. I also have played games that as well doesn't use all 4 cores and some of them were the Dead Space games. They seem to only use 2 CPU Cores as well, but I didn't really pay attention to it because those games ran with 100 FPS+ on Ultra settings. Crysis 3 is probably the most optimized game out of its series, it can literally use up to 8 CPU Cores. I should have gone with an Intel Core i5 3570K as they have a much stronger core but I was on a really low budget.

Some reviews indicate that in DX11 mode it can make use of a 3rd core(so you have that).

The problem is most users see overall cpu usage and say look at all that is left, when in fact if a program can not use all cores it will look like half the cpu is not used. Problem is it will not be used.

This effect looks MUCH worse on 8 core systems and Intel quad core systems with hyper threading. so what looks like an average cpu usage of 50% will look like 25% for those users.

Please make sure you have the latest game updates and video card drivers as well.

If other games do not have this issue, I would chalk it upto game optimizations(or lack of). I have to wonder if any of the texture packs are a part of the issue.

So the game only uses 2 CPU Cores out of my 4. I have already overclocked my CPU from 3.4 GHZ to 4.1 GHZ anything higher than 4.1 GHZ I get BSOD.

It looks like a cpu bottleneck for sure(my first guess would be pure clock speed). The game may not actually be optimized for more than 2-3 cores(DX11 mode) and only 2 for DX9.

Chances are part 3 is just better optimized.
