Help Part Picking for Gaming PC $1,000-$1,200 (Did I pick a good setup? Can you help me save $ ??)
Approximate Purchase Date: this week

Budget Range: $1,200 - $1,400 (I had originally wanted to keep it around $1,000...but didn't look like a system would be good enough for star citizen at that price point. If I could get it back to $1,200...it would be better.)

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, dual monitors, multi-client EVE, star citizen, BF3, web surfing.

Is the GPU I picked good enough, or should I switch it for a R9 290??

Do you need to buy OS: Yes ...Plan on Windows 8.1

Overclocking: Maybe

Additional Comments: In the summer, it is regularly 90 deg + here.

I used the forums here, some gaming company websites, some fellow gamer advice, etc. This would be my first build. I have a family, and have full-time RL, so I want a Gaming PC for high quality gaming with my online friends, no lag, and the ability to play star citizen well.

Any advice on parts, $ saving (Don't say get rid of RL!), etc. would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I've searched a bit and r9 290x is better for star citizen but if you don't care for ultra graphics and only for fps then do not change the GPU you posted above
