Take the card out and clean the cooler as well apply fresh thermal compound. If all else get a decent aftermarket cooler that is much better than the stock cooler and never worry about the issue again. A good cooler can run $50-75 easy but in the long run are good investments, some coolers can be made to last for many years on multiple cards.

i have an aftermarket cooler, but i used the cheap paste. my case is set up for water cooling, do you reccoment the corsair cooler? if not, what cooler do you recommend?
