Im sorry I didnt answer for long,I did manage it to get in,but with much more power than the 6pin.
Anyhow the card is defective and I returned it back, and im getting a sapphire trixxx r9 290 and was wondering will my psu be enough.
This is my system
- AMD FX 8120 4.5ghz OC with noctua nh-d14
- R9 290
-250GB HDD WD and a ocz vector 150 240gb ssd
-8gigs of 1333mhz ram
- Corsair tx 750W PSU
Thanks in advance!

Yes. More than enough PSU for the card. And a good quality PSU.

It sounds from your description like the locking tab on the 8 pin header is missing. Look close at the 8 pin and 6 pin and see if they both have the little tab above them.
