Do I have a dual-core CPU or a quad-core CPU? (Intel i3 4130)
I built a new PC and it has the Intel i3-4130 @ 3.40GHz 4CPUs according to directx or is it?
On their portal it says it has 2 cores:

On every other site it always says it has 2 cores
I've got a few widgets on my desktop, here's the image:

Even there it shows 4 cores.
So, 4 cores or 2?

It's good. It means you have two virtual cores along with two physical cores. You'll see a performance increase in programs/games that can utilize 4 threads, as compared to a dual core without hyper threading.

Overall its good, its better than a normal dual core without hyperthreading. Though its not better than a CPU with 4 physical cores. (someone with much more knowledge than me can probably give you a more informative answer though)

It has 2 cores. It shows up as 4 cores on the widget because it has hyperthreading, which allows for two threads per core, instead of one thread per core.

So is that good or bad?
