Will my motherboard support any graphics card?
Ok, so I have a 760GM-P34FX motherboard and I am wondering if I would be able to use any brand of graphics card on the motherboard? On the back of the motherboard box, it says it supports ATI Radeon 300 series graphics cards. Is my motherboard limited to specifically those?

Thanks for the help!

With AMD boards, finding accurate compatibility information can be problematic. Even the official AMD tables are full of inconsistencies and downright contradictions. The best method I've found for checking compatibility is to start with a chart like this, pick out a likely target, then double check the information on the various technical support websites, reviews and sites like Tom's. And Tom's is usually the most reliable info source.

Feel free to disregard the chart I linked - there are plenty more out there. It's a place to start, though, and the more information you have, the better you'll be able to evaluate your options and make an informed decision. We can advise and inform all day long (and all night long for some of us), but at the end of the day, you're the one who's going to have to pull the trigger and live with the consequences.

Ok thank you! Based on the responses I have received, I don't think I will have an issue with the current card i'm eyeballing.

Yep it does! And for my PSU and CPU, I don't think they will be an issue. Thanks!

Check this for compatible cards - http://www.pc-specs.com/mobo/MSI/MSI_760GM-P34_(FX)/1901/Compatible_GPUs

Make sure that any card you select will fit into your case, and that your PSU is sufficient to power it and has the appropriate cables, if required.

If you can give us the details of your build, we can help you pick out an appropriate card.

The website looks helpful but it says the motherboard is not compatible with the current graphics card I have installed, an AMD Radeon HD 7750 2GB, so it appears the site might not be completely reliable?

They said they're not 100% accurate.. Also there are no AMD R7 and R9 series and from GTX 700 series.. they might left it without updating..

Oh I see. I was actually looking at getting a GTX 700 series, that's why I was wondering if it was accurate. Thank you!

A motherboard can support any kind of graphics card from nvidia or amd radeon as long as there is a PCI Express slot. Performance, on the other hand, depends on the rest of your computer.

Yes, unless the maximum processor support doesn't bottleneck the GPU installed..
