Need help on a new gfx card
Hi, I bought a cheap PC to do a bit of gaming and I'm wanting to get more FPS in game but I'm unsure what graphics card to get because I've heard the CPUs can bottleneck them if they are too good.

So basically my question is what is a good/best gfx card I can get without the risk of bottlenecking.. or any other issues for that matter.

Here's my system...

AMD Athlon II X4 750K 3.40 GHz (4.00 GHz Turbo) Quad Core Processor
AMD Radeon R7 240 2GB Graphics Card
8GB RAM
1TB Hard Drive
500W Power Supply

Thanks.

Thanks you've been a great help, one more quick question. What will happen if I run the r9 with my scrappy basic 500psw? And is it a definite no no?

It depends how many amps on the 12V rails.
It may run but crash when you load up games or simply not boot up.
Wouldn't recommend it.

What is a decent 500w psu which will run the r9 270. And will my cpu be ok with that gfx card?

Power Supply: XFX ProSeries 450W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply (£35.09 @ Aria PC)

If you have a crappy psu then this would be fine:

or

If you have a decent 500W pus then this:

my budget would be around 100-120pound. It's not branded it's just a basic psu. I couldn't tell you how many amps atm sorry.

Depends on your budget?
Also what brand and model is your power supply? Do you know how many Amps are on the 12V rails.
