GTX 770 4GB vs. R9 290 vs. GTX 780
Hi. I'm building my first pc and am having the hardest time picking a GPU. I'll mostly be playing games like BF4, Crysis 3, and Watch Dogs. I've done a ton of research and have narrowed my options down to 3.

Sorry, I've already googled the crap out of this question, but all the answers seem to reference old prices. Here's my options:

GTX 770 4GB -$348 ($300 for the 2GB)
R9 290 Tri-X -$403
GTX 780 -$450

I understand Radeon cards tend to be a bit less "stable". That's why I'd rather go for a 770 than a 280x. But for a 290, I'm willing to take the risk. The Tri-x seems to do the best job at cooling and noise reducing. The common black screen crash is what worries me. Should I even be worried about that? I'd appreciate responses from actual 290 Tri-X owners.

My budget is $400, but if I have to give up another $50 for a good deal, I will. I just don't know which of the 3 is the best deal.

Please help.

If $50 is important to you, but the GTX770 2gb for $300. It will play everything well on a single monitor.
There is little value in 4gb of vram:

On the other hand, the GTX780 at $450 will probably be the most satisfactory card.
If you can afford the $450 for the GTX780, go ahead and do it, or you will be forever wondering if you should have.

AMD cards do get a few more fps on bf4 as it supports mantle, but I'd go for the 780 as it's the most pwoeful out of the 3 you listed, also power efficient and doesn't have high termps like the amd cards

In terms about performance and cooling, go for the R9 290 Tri-X as this graphics card is Mantle supported (which games like Crysis 3, BF4, Thief, and other games that will have Mantle support) and also supported by DirectX.

I just think taking advantage of the Mantle support is a good choice tho. But it's your call. ;)

NOTE: This is not Radeon Fanboyism. Haha.
