Not in the far future I´d like to add my computer a SSD with atleast 256GB of capacity.
So i started thinking why do i have to use SATA III(6Gb/s) if my motherboard supports all those new generation fancy things like sata express and so on. So i found out my motherboard has M.2 PCIe connector and SATA express. Which interface should I use for maximum speed and features for my SSD? Or is there any more solutions? Or maybe I should stay with SATA III and not mess with these things? Maybe you could tell me the difference of those connectors.
I know a lot about computers and I have my own custom built PC but those storage connectors have always been mystery for me(expect SATA of course).
I apologize if my english is bad but I hope you understand.

I found M.2 support list http://download.gigabyte.eu/FileList/Document/mb_m.2_su...Are these the only ones that I can use or does this list means something else?
Those are ones known to work. Others may or may not.

For USAFRet: My motherboard is Gigabyte GA Z97X Gaming 3. Can it boot from M.2?Unknown. The manual http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_g... doesn't state either way.
Note - pg 11:
(M.2, SATA Express, and SATA3 4/5 connectors can only be used one at a time. The SATA3 4/5 connectors will become unavailable when an M.2 SSD is installed.)

The M.2 PCIe is theoretically faster, IF your board can boot from it. Not all can.
