problem compability of mobo with sata 3 storage
Hey guys i have AMD platform mobo 'ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3'

In my mobo specification says about storage

Storage
Built-in Controller :
6 x SATA 3Gb/s port(s), blue
Support Raid 0, 1, 10, JBOD

is it says my mobo compatible with SATA 3Gb/s only ? that means i got only 300mb/second speed...according to http://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1006502/

But i have Internal hard drive with 6gb/second bandwidth so .that means it need to give me 600mb/second speed..

so please advise me that do i need new SATA cable III?(6.0 gb/second) or do i need new mobo for getting 6.0gb/s with sata 3??plz help

you mobo is limited to sata 2 (3gb/s) so any hdd/ssd will also be limited to that. you need a sata 3 (6gb/s) controller to run your drives at 6gb/s and yes you should upgrade to a sata 3 capable mobo! here is a great one with overclocking ability and sata 3 controller
