Display driver stopped - Screen turn black and shuttle every few second
Hi all,

My spec :
Asus Maximus HERO VII
I7 4770K
Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400mhz
Corsair H100i cpu cooler
Samsung Evo 250gb solid state drive
Sapphire R9 280x Tri-x
Corsair CX750M psu
Windows 7 home premium

I faced these problem on my newly build pc.
When start up everything runs normally until desktop everything still seem normal until i play a game from steam(CS:GO) when in game my screen shuttled turn black and back to normal every few mins sometime every few seconds, not only in game but sometimes when i am youtube video in google chrome my display driver stopped responding too. I have done lots of troubleshooting as well.

-Removed all cables and plug them back again
-Removed my graphic card and plug them back again
-Remove my Ram and plug them back again, even tested different Ram sticks
-Downloaded the latest driver for my Graphics card and downgrading to previous version that people said it should work.
-Brought both Graphics card and Ram to a friend use which run the same system as me, everything runs well after 2-3 hours of gaming and testing.
-Swap Graphics card with my friend (R9 280x same card as mind)
-Changed to a different monitor
-Re-installed OS and drivers

After doing almost everything i could and the result are the same. So i when back to the shop and asked them why is this happening, they told to try changing a power source like from my room to the living room and do not connect to extension meaning plug my PSU straight to the wall plug alone. So, i tried and yes it started working and i can play CS:GO for a few hours without Driver stopping. So i thought it was the power in my room that cant supply the need of my 750w psu. But everything comes to an end at night i started having black screen and freezing every few mins. I am think could it be because of my family using air con at the night drawing too much power so it started having problem again. Now the next day in the noon i try to start up my comp and play my game again and yes it started working without any display driver stopped responding.

How can I solved this power issue? will getting a UPS work for me? or any other solutions? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced

So you've RMA'd every product and recieved a new / fixed one? What else do you have in your PC? Have you re-installed your OS already?

If you have the exact same build, it is easy to troubleshoot. If he wants to help you, you should just simply check all your hardware.
Exchange your GPU with your friend ones, and see if you get the problem. If it still has the problem on your PC, with his GPU, the GPU isn't the problem.
Do the same with the RAM and PSU.

If the problem consist on YOUR PC only, it could be your motherboard. If the problem occurs on your friends PC when he has, for example, your GPU in his system, it clearly shows the GPU is the problem

Does your PC have the same problem when you are at another house, with no airco which could be draining some of the power?

Strange.
If that is the problem I would guess a UPS would work, because it would help you get a steady power output. You'll just have to be sure it could keep up with your gaming.

But still, I'm not entirely sure, because an UPS is pretty expensive.

Yea have tried too but still the same when in the night aircon power on my screen turn black straight away

Maybe it's a faulty PSU, have you tried using your friends PC at your home, in your room? Or only his PSU in your system?
