Gigabyte Brix Gaming
I have checked out these 2 barebones but I have no idea which one would perform better under load and what settings I would use to play games like BF4 and Far Cry 3 @ 1080P

Hi Fatpat999, if you do the DIY pc and riad the SSD, I will recommend you just buy the same size single one, because it will be less harsh. The raid only make you feel better in the benchmark test because it has the highest score. I recommend get one like this Crucial CT240M500SSD1 http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/parts/internal-hard-drive/#t...

Well it partly depends on the exact Brix your going for, but i think either way the Gigabyte will come out on top in terms of raw performance and smooth gameplay. From experience Mobile GPU's get the job done, but at incredible temperatures and low settings, whereas a GTX 760 will out perform the 860m whilst also giving the system a longer life in terms of the games it can run and the quality level you will be running them at.
Personally i would go for the Brix, it seems better in almost every respect, and the Dedicated GPU is the real selling point, of course here i will do the usual and recommend you DIY build yourself and get a midtower at least,(exactly what i did yesterday, built my new pc and installed W8.1) but then im pretty sure your heart is set on the mini pc anyway
Good luck in your future endeavors and i hope you enjoy your new gaming pc
P.S. my new pc specs
Because i just had to share them xDi7 950
Asus Sabertooth x58 TUF
12gb Corsair Dominator RAM + Airflow ram cooler
2 x KFA2 560ti OC in SLI
Zalman Z9 (Soon to be replaced with HAF Stacker)
Prolimatech Megahalems (Mounted with 2 x SP120 performance edition in Push Pull)
Also got a free SSD so i shoved windows 8 on that xD Loving it
Well, I have thought of building a M-ITX rig but then i saw this and basically fell in love it.
Its small enough to mount on a VESA mount but still beefy enough to play games at med - high settings
My other alternative is this one.
http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/YrMYRB
P.S. your rig sure looks old but its probably running pretty strong eh ?
Well the Rig is old yes
But its because i bought the parts from an upgrading enthusiast in my area.I got the 12gb of ram for £40, both GPU's for £100, and the Motherboard , CPU , and even the cooler
and a free SSD all for £120.
So my new rig has been very cheap thusfar for one hell of a punch xD
Now onto your decision, i can understand falling in love with the small PC's, they are "Cute"
. However after seeing your alternative choice i would advise you go and get that instead, the parts are far superior to the Brix, it will last longer and produce less heat aswell, the only qualm i have with it is that the PSU could do with either being a bit higher capacity or perhaps a higher version, such as an AX series or RM series. (not the corsair link versions though, overrated crap xD).So to sum it up really i would advise you go with your alternative choice, your getting a better PC that is going to really survive the next few years on good settings and low heat. But of course if money is an objection then the Brix will do fine
Good luck with your new gaming pc dude
Well lets say that both rigs cost ECAXTLY the same
(After all the add on parts and the monitors)
If both rigs were to cost EXACTLY the same its a no brainer, go straight for the Xeon build
Best bang for buck and definitely more fun to buy and maintain. Thanks, I certainly will.
Actually, i will be running 128gb ssd's in raid 1. Also i will have a 160GB, 250GB, 320GB, and 1TB HDD (2.5")
Im guessing the odd amount of HDD's are coming from old builds?
My current PC is the same, 40gb ssd i got for free, 600gb hdd and a 250gb hdd, Getting a new 1tb soon but ive got other stuff to get before that
ahha, you are sorta correct
All the drives came from old laptops that I needed to use for school but then those laptops got phased out and then I kept them as I knew I would put them to good use.
The ssd's and 1TB hdd are the only new drives i am getting

Get the Gigabyte Brix Gaming because both have the i5-4200 (Gigabyte has faster higher frequency cpu), and Gigabyte Brix Gaming has the gtx760 and zotac has the GTX 860M. And the gtx760 is better. For those game you need the good GPU because the cpu i5 is almost same so that better gpu will give you better performances.GeForce GTX 860M vs gtx760 http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GTX-860M-vs-GeForce-GTX...
Well according to other forums, they say that it looks more 870M rather than a 760.
