Except that the R9 285 looks to be a more expensive gimped version of the 280 with some extras that may or may not be of any use to you. Would definitely go with the 280 over the 760 better card for a lot less money.
(there was meant to be a quote of johnb0118 recommending the 285 but the quote system on this forum is unintuitive as duck)

Neither... AMD just announced the R9 285 today. Go with that.Honestly though, it always depends on the game(s) you're playing. If your game performs better with Nvidia GPUs, go with Nvidia. If it performs better with AMD, go with AMD.
this is one thing i like about amd that they make a lot of models like r9 260 r9 260x r9 265 and now r9 280 r9 280x and now r9 285 .......

The r9 280 and the gtx 760 trade blows with each other. They're roughly at par. When playing a game like skyrim modded out and enbs, the r9 280 would do better with that extra gb of vRAM.
I haven't had that many problems with the AMD drivers myself.
As for shadowplay, you're buying a fx 8320. You have enough threads to play and record with minimal fps drops already anyways. I have a fx 8350 and a r9 270x, and i only take like a couple fps hit when streaming. The performance hit isn't significant to the point where it ruins gameplay.
AMD does have their own version of shadowplay, but i haven't really used it myself.

it totally depends on your choice many people have different preference some prefer nvidia because its cooler , have stable drivers, shadowplay and physx on the other hand amd is cheaper and performs really well ................if we compare gtx 760 and r9 280 yes the r9 280 is a little bit faster than gtx 760 but u will get physx feature with nvidia which is good if u like detailing........so if u want that tiny bit of performance and 3 gb vram then go for r9 280 the extra vram will come handy in future gaming and big resolutions but if u are into detailing like cars busting effects sunrays fire and other stuff then go with nvidia........
