NZXT Guardian 921 RB - Wiring Issue
I just purchased the NZXT Guardian 921 RB case and am a little confused by cables while trying to hook it up to my MSI Z97-G45 motherboard. The case has 1 headphone, 1 mic and 2 usb 2.0 ports on the front; however, I have 2 connector cables labeled HD audio and cannot seem to find a connector labeled USB.

How many HD audio connectors is this case supposed to have? The instructions that came with the case are in no way helpful. I was looking online and on the motherboard and it appears that USB and audio connectors are very similar, with a single pin variance. I'm guessing that the USB ports were miswired into an HD audio connector when the case was assembled.

This is funny, I just purchased the same case last month (received it on August 22nd) and when I wired it up I had 2 cables coming from the front panel that are labeled USB but no HD audio cable. It slipped my mind that I need one until my son complained yesterday that he couldn't get the front panel audio jacks to work.

I have been looking all over the place to see if anyone else has had the same problem and finally came across your thread. So I have called NZXT and explained the problem, they are supposed to be shipping out a new case this week. Unfortunately, I think the audio jack being wired into the USB header port has screwed up the microphone on my headset.
