I've been having computer trouble and I've found that it is my power supply. I used the psu from my other pc and my pc booted up perfectly.
It took me a while to figure out that it was the power supply because when my computer stopped working one of the first things I did was test every pin in the 24pin and 4pin cpu plug. Everything was well within the ranges defined here:
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/insidethepc/a/power-suppl...
With the bad power supply my computer will turn on, but won't POST. So I used the bad power supply, turn the pc on, and tested voltages via the pins on the back of the motherboard. All were within the tolerances.
But it doesn't work.
I know I need a new psu, and I'm ok with that, but I'm frustrated that I can't figure out what the problem is coming from.
Anyone have any clue why the old power supply isn't working for me?
