Will unplugging GPU fan allow me to OC higher?
Hello all. I was curious if unplugging the fan on a gt 430 allow me to OC it higher as it wont draw as much power from the PCI-e slot. I can manage the heat easily without the fan plugged in, I just need to know if this will help get more performance.

The fan will still break it heatsink or not. But no it won't allow for any extra OC, sorry.

I'm not talking about removing the heatsink. The fan is very small and I have 6 80+ CFM fans in the case, airflow will NOT be an issue.

Alternatively, you could move the PC into your microwave, as it provide a bit of a power boost for overclocking.

No. removing your GPU fans will kill your GPU. And while microwaving your PC make be a cool YouTube video, it will kill it.

Do not ever remove the fans, it will do no good for your system and the power will still be using the same but the little left off the fans will just loop back around. DO NOT TAKE THE FANS OFF.

Hopefully this points out not to ruin a card.

Good Luck.
