Looking for new graphics card! Could use some opinions!
Hey guys, I am a huge flight simmer (FSX) and its pretty much all I'm playing besides a few other games here and there. I am currently running a Gigabyte HD 6950 1GB GDDR5 on a P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3 motherboard with an Intel i7 2600K @ 4.6GHz and a TX850W PSU.

I am looking to convert to nVidia this time around and have a budget of $300 CAD give or take.
I appreciate any help you guys can offer me!

The GTX 770 will be your best bet for that price range in the Nvidia department. The 770 is due to have a large price decrease since Nvidia is trying to combat the release of the R9 285. The price is expected to drop to $275. Take a look:

The cheapest you can currently acquire the 770 is for $314.99. It comes with a free game however, Borderlands The Pre-Sequel. Here is the link:

Most likely many people will come along and tell you to purchase the R9 280X instead because it is cheaper and offers similar performance. Ignore them. The 770 provides better performance by around 14% and as I spoke of earlier the 770 will receive a significant price decrease.

Here is a comparison of the GTX 770 and the R9 280X:
