I want to buy nvidia GT610 that has pci e 2.0.Can i use it in my pci e x16(1.0) card slot . please answer...very very urgent..
my motherboard is foxconn MCP73M01H1 (Napa). it has pci e x16 slot. I want to buy nvidia gt610 2gb graphics card. Will it be comapatible. Can i play high graphics games like Watch dogs, Cod MW3, Metal gear, Crisis 3..etc.

The card will work in the slot, but, the GT610 is slower than the last few generations of integrated graphics(intel and amd). It's not going to play those high end games. But the video card isn't the only problem most of the cpu's that boards supports wouldn't run the games either. It's like trying driving a stock geo metro in a formula 1 race.

Itll work, but it isnt going to play any of those games you mentioned at anywhere near playable framerates. Even lowest settings, it would struggle, so no it wont work in regards to that. Not to mention im sure the rest of your system, since its pcie 1.0 is rather old.

Yes, they are backwards compatible, it will work!
