no, it will. i took it as a graphics upgrade when i read it. however, the board needs to be able to support the newer manufactured cpu. Oh okay, sorry if I was a bit rude then I just thought you were saying it wouldn't change anything that is a pretty big jump.
I think that he might of already checked the motherboard CPU support list, cause the E8300 isn't the fastest core2duo so I thought that is how he got it.
otman97: if you haven't, make sure you do check the CPU support list and that the E8300 is on it.

I fail how to see increasing nearly 1Ghz on both of the CPU cores will give little to no improvement. I guess clock speed isn't important even on similar architectures. Had I only known I would of bought the cheapest lowest clocked quad-core CPU instead of the one I can overclock because clock speed does nothing.
