Hi guys I'm getting the new Asus x99 deluxe motherboard at the end of the year, I was wondering what CPU to get I'm wanting an intel i7 or i5 but don't know what is better. I'll be using this pc for 4k gaming and light to medium work station use.
What is better choice plz can you help out, thanks

You know what you want..... this platform will be around for a while so get the 5960x if you can't afford it wait until you can. Everyone who gets a lesser chip will complain the entire time about how they wished they hadn't cheaped out and got the 8 core. You know I right, just save up get the one you want. All the people who do reviews are raving about how awesome this chip is and how they are putting it in their rig.... Do you think anyone will be happy with the 6 core knowing there is a 8 core out there running free.... you know what to do....

Ok so I'll run u through to components
my motherboard will be an asus x99 deluxe
GPU will be a r9 295x2
Case will be a Cosmose 2
PSU is a xfx 1000w
And some other stuff which makes the components about without the CPU it will be $2500 I want something around $500
