Hi all. I recently bought a new CX430 PSU, since the OEM(FSP250-60HEN - 250W) one gone busted cuz of some failed capacitors, 5+ years of good job done (R.I.P). So I pop in this new baby, the first boot looks promising, fans start functioning etc but I hear no beeps.. dead, silent, just fans running. Then I decide to restart it and this time I have like a bunch of them, "1 long pause" beeps for 3 times then a sudden short beep, totaling a 4 beeps. It seems that if I let it going, will continue to make "1 long pause" beeps until I forcefully shut it down. I must say also I had before with the old PSU similar problems, but I don't recall the specific code, nor was some sort of persistent problem (popped out-back the rams then done). So yes indeed this ruined my day and I don't know what to believe now since the official Phoneix page (mobo has a PhoneixBIOS D686) doesn't seem to describe the situation I have... Well, what you folks think? Is some stuff there inside that's messy? A dead mobo?
I hope neither of those.
Thanks.

Hell yea! Fixed the problem apparently. First I took some of Jackson's goodies to cool my blood, then checked for all cables, holes, each cap, etc all was fine! I threw my eyes then on the goddamn rams, popped first out, checked slot, power up pc, still dead... popped second, and surprise! A big bad dusty boy was attached to the pins of the ram, so I cleared it up and voila... pc resuscitated from dead...
Thanks for your support guys and for the one that might helped, thank you!

Check to be sure that you have all the connectors plugged in, such as the 4 pin power plug to the motherboard. If everything is plugged in, check the motherboard for bad capacitors. It's also possible that your new PSU is bad. You can also try one stick of RAM at a time. My guess is going to be bad caps on the motherboard, though. First thanks for your suggestions. Hell ya, maybe it could be what you're saying since the entire system, is just as old as the other PSU, wouldn't be surprising some component on the mobo dieded.. Is also possible that some damage has been done to the motherboard or other component by the old PSU..Well I still wish to pull as long as possible from this, I will try the old pop and trial method with the rams , checking cables etc...
At least I hope I could retrieve some meaning from teh beep codes, if someone could first that's it ..
