One DVI Port not working on XFX HD6870
Hi,
I have a custom gaming pc, with an AMD Radeon XFX HD6870 Double Dissipation Edition graphics card. The top DVI port on it works just fine as do the HDMI ports etc, however the bottom one doesnt output any signal to any monitors.
The card is very clean etc and was just wondering if anyone has any experience on this and even better how to fix it. Google shows noone ever having this problem on this gfx card or any other from what i can see. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Huh. Well that's very interesting if thats the solution. So im guessing i should just order a single link off of amazon? Any difference in performance or quality between the two? And im guessing the monitors can effectively handle either single or dual link? Cheers

The top DVI port is a DVI-D port. That is a Dual-Link DVI port.

The bottom port is a Single-Link DVI port.

You are probably using a Dual-Link (otherwise known as DVI-D) cable to connect to your Graphics Card. This cable will not effectively interface with a Single-Link DVI port.

The outcome is the same regardless of whether both ports are connected simultaneously or only one. It works fine if i have one on the working DVI and one on the HDMI.
